CT Coronary Angiography - Advantages

Chest CT angiography with Coronary CT angiography (CTA) is a diagnostic procedure using computed tomography to scan the chest and coronary arteries. It is a non-invasive technique that allows clear visualization of narrowed and clogged arteries that can cause heart attack and stroke. It has greater potential to revolutionize the practice of cardiovascular medicines. By using CT, physicians would move away from determining ‘probability’ to establishing a definitive diagnosis of CAD which is the major cause of deaths worldwide.

Advantages:

It is a painless procedure.
Quick and non-invasive.
No hospitalization required.
Immediate resumption of normal activities.
Cost effective to conventional angiogram.
It is a three-dimensional modality.

Cholestrol

Cholestrol is natural product of the body and is essential for a variety of functions. Our body uses Cholestrol to make the hormones testosterone and is one of the stimuli for aging men and women. As you grow older our body loses its capacity of sexual drive, energy and strength. Hence the Hormones testosterone plays a vital role here. Now the real problem lies in that if the oxidation of cholestrol takes place it leads to the heart disease. This oxidation enables the cholestrol to become sticky and it starts to form plaque in the walls of arteries of heart. This can be controlled by effective use of anti-oxidants. Some of the most powerful anti-oxidants are:
1. CoenzymeQ10 2. Vitamin E 3. Vitamin A 4. Vitamin CTo keep the cholestrol levels in balance we have to consume low cost, safe food sources rich in omega 3's. Some of those foods are:1. Garlic 2. Ginger 3. Olive Oil 4. Almonds 5. Walnuts 6. Eggs 7. Fresh fruits.A diet heavy in grains and processed foods will actually raise your blood cholesterol levels more than foods which contain cholesterol. Some of the best ways to improve your “Good” or HDL cholesterol is through: 1. Exercise 2. Vitamin D 3. Niacin 4. Moderate alcohol consumptionAnd finally … Policosanol – An organic plant alcohol from sugar cane is one of the best natural ways to reduce bad cholesterol levels.
